Northern Virginia Senior portraits can be fun. It doesn’t have to be a stifled studio photo, with the same boring background, and the stiff pose.  My sessions are fun, relaxed and showcase your personality.

When I look back at the person I was in high school, I can see that every decision I was making then was molding me into the person that I have become. It was through this journey from being my high school yearbook editor, to majoring in Photography in New York, that I discovered my passions for photography, art, friendships and travel. Having this education and the freedom to explore what I loved was something that I never took for granted.

Relax, be yourself, and let’s have fun!

Senior portraits are about documenting this time in your life. Most people feel a little awkward in front of the camera. It’s normal. I make this fun, relaxed, and not stiff and posed. Most of my senior are surprised by how much fun we have, how relaxed it is, and how fast the time goes.

Cap and gown photos are sometimes incorporated but not always. A change of clothes, say from fancy to casual, will give you multiple looks in one shoot and is a way to maximize our time together. Aside from what you are actually wearing, I focus on the real you, who you are right now, and what makes you unique.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your
senior portraits in Northern Virginia

Incorporate your interests, hobbies, or future plans

Every senior session is different than the others. Some seniors are musicians, others are planning to be veterinarians. Let me know what your interests are and see if we can find a way to incorporate this into the photoshoot.

Pick a location that feels right

Maybe you’re more of an urban person than an outdoors person. Maybe you love hiking, or watching sunsets. If you’re not sure where to have your session, no worries, I have lots of options that we can talk about.

Wear something that feels good and makes you feel confident

Take care of yourself

Hydrate well the day before, and also bring water. And to carry your clothes, water and anything else you may bring, it’s helpful to also bring a friend or parent to help carry these things. They can also help make sure your hair looks good and help with the change of clothes if needed.

Relax, and be yourself!

The best piece of advice I can give you, is to just be yourself. Let’s have some fun!
