I see it every time a woman steps in front of my camera.
It is not just the blazer or the backdrop or the lipstick. What you are carrying inside yourself walks onto set with you. Your nervous system, your stories about success, your relationship with being seen. All of it shows up in your branding photography.
That has always been true.
But working with Stacey made it impossible for me to ignore.
Stacey is a coach for high performing women and the founder of Soul Studio. She helps them clear the internal blocks that quietly cap their success. Her clients learn to lead, build and live from a place of clarity and power. Our work together began when I photographed her first branding session. Then she started sending some of her clients to me for their photos. Later, I joined her Transform program to do my own inner work. And just a few days ago, I attended her Intend retreat.
Seeing both sides, from inside her work and behind my lens, has changed how I see things. It changed how I understand what happens on a branding shoot in a much deeper way.
The Moment I Realized Presence Beats Panic
A while back, I was in the middle of a big branding photoshoot on location. The owners of the business were standing there waiting for me, and something completely out of my control went sideways.
Old me would have tried to outrun the panic. Talk faster. Move faster. Fix it before anyone noticed.
I stopped.
Then I took a deep breath.
For a moment, the room was actually silent.
For a second, it probably felt uncomfortable. But in that pause, I felt my whole body come back online. The solution appeared. I adjusted, and the shoot was beautiful.
That moment is Stacey’s work in action. One of the biggest things I learned from her is this. I do not have to work harder and faster to be successful.
The slower, calmer and more present I am, the more successful I become. That includes how I show up for my clients on set.
How Stacey’s Clients Walk Into Branding Photography Sessions
Here is the part that lights me up.
When a woman comes to me after working with Stacey, I can feel the difference the minute she arrives.
Calm and relaxed, she actually enjoys being in hair and makeup instead of treating it like just another task. She trusts herself. That trust shows in her decisions. She knows she belongs in front of the camera.
There is no obsessing over a hair out of place. She does not apologize for being “awkward.” And she is not trying to make herself smaller or perfectly polished.
She is willing to play, try things, move, be still, laugh, be serious. She is free to be herself.
My client Marcy Smith is one of my favorite examples of this. Photographing her was pure joy. Her self confidence and grounded energy filled the room, and my job became very simple. I only had to keep up with her. Every expression felt usable because she was not fighting herself in every frame.
As a photographer, it is a beautiful thing to witness and to capture. It is inspiring, and it makes the images so much more powerful because they feel real.

How I Hold Space For Every Woman I Photograph
Working with Stacey changed how I see my role on set. I am not just there to make great images. I am there to keep the room calm so you do not have to. Whether you arrive already grounded or a little tightly wound from carrying a lot, I meet you the same way. You get space to exhale, be yourself, and let me handle the rest.
If you are building something big and you are tired of performing your success instead of feeling it, I want you to know this. What you feel will show up in your brand photos. That is not something to be afraid of. It is something we can work with.
Working with Stacey has had a real impact on me, both personally and in my work as a photographer. I am deeply grateful for the clients who find me through her. If you feel drawn to the kind of inner work I described, you can explore her work at Soul Studio: https://soulstudio.us/
And whether you have worked with her or are thinking about it, you are welcome here. If you are ready for branding photography for women entrepreneurs that feels honest and grounded, I would love to talk. Step into the room, take a breath, and let me create images that look like the woman you already are.
